At Gloria Dei, ALL are welcome.
And we do mean everyone.
Gloria Dei Lutheran Church has had its doors open for anyone seeking the Word of God in the Kansas City Metropolitan area since 1959. Worshipers gather at Gloria Dei to join a community of Christs’ followers where members and guests worship, grow and volunteer side by side in their life’s journey with Christ.
Where we are located
Gloria Dei Lutheran Church is located at 5409 NW 72nd Street, Kansas City, Missouri off of I-29 highway. Our building sits right across the street from the entrance to the Lake Waukomis.

,For our youngest members and visitors of Gloria Dei, we have a supervised nursery offered during both Sunday services. We also have additional seating in the Worship Center for parents who would like additional space for their children to move around during service.
For elementary grade students, during the school year at 10:30 service, we offer a Children’s Message following the Gospel reading.
6th – 12th grade
At the beginning of every academic year, Fall Sunday School at Gloria Dei begins! Classes for children ages three to eighteen begin at 9:15 am every Sunday morning. Here, you will be able to learn about God, His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
At Sunday School, children grow as Lutherans, learn about scripture from the Bible and learn the importance of prayer and living a Christ-like life. Children are also able to go through a series of classes to receive Confirmation.
Whether you and your family belong to Gloria Dei or you are a visitor, all children are welcome to attend our Sunday School classes.
6th– 12th grade
Youth Fusion gatherings are the first and third Sundays of every month at church from 5:30pm – 8pm during the school year. A typical night includes dinner, large group, small group, games and outreach planning. Along with all of the outreach programs we participate in, we also put together events outside of our church such as our Youth Fusion trip to Smithville Lake this past summer!
Contact Michelle Boe at email@example.com for more information about our Youth Fusion program.
What People are Saying
Lisa J. Rechkemmer
“Gloria Dei was our church home for around 15 years and was one of my hardest good-byes when I relocated. Our church family there helped me raise my children and support and nurture our faith. Coming back this past weekend was so heart-warming…. it is a wonderful ELCA Lutheran church – welcoming and strong in faith.”

“I love Gloria Dei. We have been members for over 13 years and we love our Gloria Dei family! The youth and children programs are great for our kids. The music ministry is outstanding – especially for a church of this size!“
